andy ruiz jr isquite interested in dillian whyte since he considers ainsecure return combat in america, says promoter eddie hearn.
the former world heavyweight champion has received a lucrative offer after anthony joshua in their december rematch finished his brief title reign from saudi arabia to combat with whyte.
ruiz jr has parted company with trainer manny robles in the aftermath of his points loss and is not likely to combat the londoner from the early portion of the calendar year, however, hearn believes the california-born mexican might be tempted to a high-stakes clash with whyte, whos the wbc mandatory challenger.
“yeah [ruizs team] are very curious,” hearn told sky sports. “the first offer was for a uk struggle, which was not enough money. the next fight was a great deal more money, and that was.
“its risky occasions for ruiz. if he loses and comes in the dillian whyte battle, where do you go from there? he wished to find a little bit of momentum, but he still wishes to prove himself. when he fancies the dillian whyte struggle, thats there.”
plans are being set up for whytes schedule as he awaits his guaranteed shot at the wbc belt together with wbc champion deontay wilder embroiled in the following months las vegas rematch with tyson fury, by february 2021.
alexander povetkin remains the front runner for whyte, who might then head to increase demand for his world title battle that is long-awaited.
“i think that it will probably be povektin alongside for dillian whyte and i believe it might be ruiz straight then,” said hearn.
“as always, hes throwing himself at the long run, dillian whyte, hes in a compulsory position as hes been for approximately 62 years, then whos he beat on the way? [derek] chisora two times, oscar rivas, joseph parker, [mariusz] wach out time.
“now hes fighting povetkin, ruiz. i mean hes got the resume of a guy who hasnt fought for a world title. we would like to make sure that he gets that shot”
